IBMは、一部のIBM Power9システムの標準保守サービスを、2026年1月31日に終了することを発表しました。この時点で、Power9システムは販売開始から8年以上が経過することになります。
対象となるモデルは以下の通りです。

保守サービス終了後は、以下のサービスが受けられなくなります
・予防保守
・新しいアップデートや修正
・機械コードの新規開発、パッチ、セキュリティ修正を含むアップデート
この保守サービス終了を機に、IBM Power10へのアップグレードやIBM CloudのPower Virtual Server (Power VS) への移行を検討する必要があります。
IBMの販売・サポート期間が短縮されている現在、企業のIT戦略を見直す契機となるかもしれません。
